Mæting: Kasthúsatjörn, Álftanesi, ekið eftir Norðurnesvegi
Fuglaskoðun við Kasthúsatjörn miðvikudaginn 17.maí undir leiðsögn Jóhanns Óla Hilmarssonar og dr. Ólafs Einarssonar náttúrufræðings. Fuglalíf við tjörnina og ný endurheimt votlendi skoðað.
Fræðslan og fuglaskoðunin er haldin í samstarfi við Fugla- og náttúruverndarfélag Álftaness og Fuglavernd og er hluti af sögugöngum ársins sem er samstarfsverkefni umhverfisnefndar, menningar- og safnanefndar og Bókasafns Garðabæjar.
Sunnudaginn 31. maí 2015 mun Fuglavernd bjóða upp á fuglaskoðun í Fuglafriðlandinu í Flóa. Elma Rún Benediktsdóttir mun leiða okkur um svæðið en fuglaskoðunin hefst klukkan 17:00 við fuglaskoðunarskýlið sem er við bílastæðið í Friðlandinu. Votlendisfuglar einkenna svæðið og eru bein tengsl við nálæg fuglarík svæði eins og fjöruna, Ölfusárós og Ölfusforir. Fuglalífið er sérstaklega auðugt og tegundaríkt á varptíma en nærri 25 tegundir verpa þar að staðaldri.
